Brazil went undefeated during the eight-day tournament to claim the U-18 South American Women’s Softball Championship, held in Parana, Argentina. Brazil defeated Colombia in the final, 11-3, to clinch the title. All the games of the continental championship were live-streamed by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), via YouTube and Facebook Live, promoting the game in another showcase of the global reach of the sport.

The tournament featured six teams, including No. 28 Argentina Blue, Argentina White (invited to the tournament), Bolivia, No. 13 Brazil, No. 31 Colombia and No. 19 Peru.

After a single round robin, Brazil finished at the top of the standings, with a perfect record of five wins, followed by Peru, Colombia and Argentina.

On Thursday Brazil defeated Peru, 4-0, and clinched a spot in the final, while Colombia upset Argentina by beating them 3-1. For the fifth place, Argentina White beat Bolivia by a score of 11-2.

On the last day of the event, Colombia scored 7 runs in the first inning of their semi final game against Peru, and never looked back, advancing to the final with a 9-3 victory over the Peruvian team, who ended in third place.

In the final Brazil prevailed over Colombia, 11-3, to remain undefeated and claim the title in front of a packed stadium.

WBSC live-streamed every single pitch of the tournament, on Facebook Live and the Official WBSC YouTube Channel. In total, the streaming reached more than 400.000 views throughout the tournament, averaging more than 57K per day.
