Monteria will host the Men’s South American Championship

The South American Softball Confederation (CONSURSA) confirmed on Thursday the city of Monteria, Colombia, as host of the 2018 Men’s South American Championship. The event will be held from May 31 to June 10.

According to the South American organization, 10 teams could participate in this tournament, including Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Panama, Dominican Republic or Cuba, the last two as guest.

In the past days the Colombian Softball Federation ratified their commitment to organize this tournament, with the specific support of the Municipal Mayor’s Office of Monteria, in the words of the Mayor Dr. Marcos Daniel Pineda García.

The last edition of this tournament was played in 2016, in Panama, where Argentina crowned as a champion, defeating Venezuela in the final by 2-0. Aruba, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Venezuela participated of the event.
